136- Jehovah said to Adonai (An exposition on Psalm 110) -3

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. [2] The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. [3] Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

Psalm 110:1-3

In Psalm 110:1-7, David in the Spirit prophesied of the Work and victories of the Christ, the Son of God. By one sacrifice, He perfected forever those who will be sanctified, Hebrews 10:14. Christ was made a high priest after His glorification. The overall result of Jesus’ priestly ministry and his redeeming power towards man is that His people shall be all living creatures in the day of His power. Yesterday, we mentioned this harvest as the theme of the season. The latter rain is sent to these body of people, who would be the rod of His strength to harvest many souls to the Kingdom. This harvest, however, is not without opposition as Psalm 110:5-7 suggests. However, the verse also shows God’s response to the harvest. David in Psalm 110:5 says that in the days of His power, the Ancient of days will come and sit down and pass His final judgment.

How does Jesus handle this opposition? Psalm 110:5 says the Lord will strike through kings in the day of His wrath. He shall judge among the heathen. He will fill the places with dead bodies. Why will he do this? Because these dead bodies were those who had caused much death. The coming harvest is of two kinds: the harvest of the true and the false Vine. We are introduced to the true vine, which is Christ in John 15 and Numbers 6:3-4 shows the false vine. The harvest of the true vine is God, by His Spirit, raising up men and women who will be in His image and after His likeness. It is God raising up a people passionate for His glory, in the day of His power. This is Captured in Psalm 110:2-4. The second harvest, or the harvest of the false vine is shown in Psalm 110:5-7. This harvest is also seen in revelation 14:17-20. This is the harvest of the wicked, to crush the pride of man.

Revelation 15 shows the result of the harvest of the true vine. These men rejoice and sing songs of deliverance after overcoming the beast, his image, his mark and the number of his name, which we explained in an earlier meditation. These human angels (messengers) now move in the fulness of strength to execute the judgment upon the false vine. In preparation for this great harvest, God pours out His latter rain. Zechariah 10:1 asks us to cry out for the rain which will prepare us for the latter rain. This rain comes to strengthen feeble knees, to refresh the weary and to confirm God’s inheritance in preparation for the latter rain that will bring maturity, Psalm 68:9. We must cry out and allow ourselves to be prepared for a great harvest. Even now, the harvest has begun and the adversary is so scared of it. However, God, by judgement will bring the nations to their knees and some in each nation will come to the feet of Jesus in worship. Psalm 110: 7 shows that as a result of the day of the Power, Jesus will be satisfied as one whose thirst has been quenched. We all shall know the unusual move of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The greatest days under the law and the greatest days under the prophets shall break forth upon us. The greatest day under the law were the day Moses and the greatest day under the prophet were in the days of Elijah and Revelation 5,6 and 11 show that the church will express the great glory that shall come upon us in the day of the power of the Lord, in the likeness and power of Moses and Elijah.

In summary, prophecy has described us as a willing people who will give glory to God. We need to seek God in our congregations and individual altars for the least qualities that are to be found in the living creatures in Revelation 4. There is no time for distractions. There is no time for walking disorderly. We must be all out in seeking the face of our Lord for the upcoming outpouring of the Spirit and the out pouring of the Spirit now. As we do so, He will give rain. He will beautify us with the Beauty of Holiness. The latter rain will come to those who have received the Word, His rain, and submitted to it. We do not pray for the latter rain, we pray for preparation rain for the latter rain as Zechariah 12:1 says. The Lord is not catalyzing or exciting us by revealing what is on His mind. He is given us two main trusts: ‘Write the vision, and make it plain for the people I have chosen for Myself’. The next is that these people shall be willing in the day of the Lord’s power hence Habakkuk 2:2 says that those who read it will run. Isaiah 8:1 urges that we write it in the pen of a man, that is, in plainness of speech. Beloved, now is the time to seek the Lord until He comes and rains righteousness on you. Prepare yourself for the glory that is to be revealed in you.

Prayer for today: Lord I have heard Your Word and read the vision. Let me not hear these with my ears and read with my eyes alone, but let my heart grasp it that I may run. I want to be among these rod company of people that you will send out, who are passionate for Your glory alone. Lord I pray for rain. The rain of Your Word and of Your Spirit to refresh me and establish me as Your inheritance, to make me as one of Your living creatures with the boldness of a lion, the tenacity of an eagle, the strength of an ox to labour and pray and the heart of a man in compassion and love. Let me have eyes all around full of light and understanding of eternal things. So that when the latter rain comes, I may be among the willing ones in the day of Your power.

Blessings Beloved 👋
